Digital board interactive flat panel mounted in a school classroom

Digital Board Price in India 2026: What Drives the Cost

October 07, 2026•6 min read

A digital board for a school classroom costs from about ₹90,000 plus GST for an entry-level interactive panel, with most 65-75 inch classroom boards landing around ₹1.2-1.5 lakh in 2026. Screen size, built-in memory, Google certification, an optional Windows module and the warranty terms explain almost all of the gap between quotes.

A modern, photorealistic classroom setting featuring an advanced, ultra-thin interactive smartboard mounted on the front wall. The smartboard displays a vibrant, high-resolution educational interface with touch controls, digital pens, and interactive educational content. Sleek, minimalistic design with subtle LED lighting around the board. The classroom is well-lit, organized, and includes contemporary furniture, with diverse students and a professional teacher engaging with the smartboard. The atmosphere is dynamic, innovative, and conducive to learning, emphasizing cutting-edge educational technology in a real-world school environment.

If you searched "digital board price in India" you will see three terms mixed together: digital board, smart board and interactive flat panel (IFP). This guide explains how they overlap, what each price band buys, and what to ask a vendor so two quotes can be compared fairly. Prices below are indicative ranges from public 2026 supplier listings and our own pricing note, so treat them as a planning guide, not a quote.

Digital board, smart board, IFP: the same thing?

Mostly, yes. Supplier guides in 2026 use "smart board", "digital board" and "interactive flat panel" interchangeably for a touchscreen display with built-in computing and teaching software. That is the product this article prices.

Two things are different and cheaper, so confirm which one a quote covers:

  • Interactive whiteboard with a projector: a touch-sensitive board plus a separate projector. Public listings put the board alone at roughly ₹80,000–₹1 lakh and a bundled setup at ₹90,000–₹1.5 lakh*, but you inherit projector bulbs, shadows and alignment. We compare the two formats in detail in our digital board vs projector guide.

  • A display that is not touch-enabled: a large screen can be sold as a "digital board" without touch or teaching software. Ask for the touch point count and the software included.

Indicative price by screen size

Public 2026 listings for interactive flat panels cluster as follows. Spreads are wide because brand, specification and dealer margin vary, and some listings quote before GST.

  • 65 inch: about ₹90,000 - ₹1.4 lakh*, suited to small classrooms and coaching rooms.

  • 75 inch: about ₹1.2 - ₹1.9 lakh*, the common choice for a standard classroom of 35–50 students.

  • 86 inch: about ₹1.8 - ₹2.8 lakh*, for large rooms and halls.

  • 98 inch: about ₹4 - ₹6.5 lakh or more*, an auditorium product, rarely right for a classroom.

*Ranges taken from publicly visible supplier pages in 2026; some exclude 18% GST. Our own anchor for planning: an entry IFP from ₹90,000 + GST, with a typical school-grade 65–75 inch panel at ₹1.2–₹1.5 lakh. A UPS to protect the panel adds around ₹5,500.

What actually drives the price

Screen size

The biggest single factor, and one where schools often overbuy. A bigger panel does not help if the back row sits within normal viewing distance of a smaller one. Our smart classroom design guide explains the viewing-distance rule for picking size.

Memory and Android version

Listings flag 4-8 GB RAM as the range that avoids lag, and a current Android version (13 or 14) for app compatibility and security. Budget panels with 2 GB RAM tend to stutter once several apps are open.

Google EDLA certification

EDLA (Enterprise Devices Licensing Agreement) is the programme that gives a panel licensed Google apps and the Play Store. Panels without it often rely on a restricted app store, which affects Google Workspace use in class. It is a cost driver worth paying for.

OPS Windows module

Some rooms need a full Windows computer inside the panel. An OPS module adds roughly ₹35,000–₹55,000* in public listings. Most classrooms do not need it, so avoid paying for it in every room.

Warranty, installation and service

Wall mounting, cabling, installation, on-site warranty length and who answers the phone after year one all change the real cost. A cheaper quote with a one-year warranty can cost more over five years than a slightly dearer one with three.

This is why two quotes for "a 75 inch digital board" can differ by a lakh or more without either being dishonest: one may be a 2 GB, non-certified panel with a one-year carry-in warranty, the other an 8 GB certified panel with three years on-site. Compare specifications line by line before comparing totals, and ask which version of the board you would receive after delivery, not only what the brochure shows.

A worked example, with stated assumptions

Assume a school fits 10 classrooms, each with a 75-inch panel at ₹1.3 lakh and a ₹5,500 UPS. That is ₹1,35,500 per room, or about ₹13.55 lakh before GST, installation and cabling. These are planning assumptions, not a quote, but they show why a ₹10,000 per-panel difference becomes ₹1 lakh across ten rooms. Our smart classroom setup cost breakdown covers the other line items.

What to put in every quote request

  • Screen size, touch points and whether it is a true interactive panel.

  • RAM, storage and Android version, and whether EDLA certified.

  • Whether an OPS slot is included and whether a module is priced separately.

  • GST treatment: are prices before or after 18% GST?

  • Warranty years, on-site or carry-in, and the service response time.

  • Mounting, cabling and installation in writing.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of a digital board in India in 2026?

Entry-level interactive panels start around ₹85,000 plus GST. A school-grade 65 to 75 inch digital board typically costs ₹1.2 to ₹1.5 lakh, while public listings show wider ranges by brand and specification. Installation, UPS and warranty extensions are usually extra, so compare complete quotes rather than headline prices.

Is a digital board the same as an interactive flat panel?

In most supplier listings, yes. Digital board, smart board and interactive flat panel describe a touchscreen display with built-in computing and teaching software. The exceptions are interactive whiteboards that need a projector and non-touch displays sold under the same name, so always confirm touch points and included software.

Is GST included in digital board prices?

Not always. Several public listings quote prices before 18% GST, and our own anchor is from ₹85,000 plus GST. Ask each vendor to state whether the quoted figure is before or after tax, and in what form the invoice will be raised, so quotes can be compared on the same basis.

Which size digital board is best for a classroom?

For a standard classroom of 35 to 50 students, a 75 inch panel is the common choice, with 65 inch suiting smaller rooms and coaching centres. The better test is viewing distance from the back row. Measure the room first, then pick the size, rather than buying the largest panel affordable.

Do I need an OPS Windows module in every classroom?

Usually not. Most teaching runs on the panel's built-in Android system. An OPS module, listed around ₹35,000 to ₹55,000, is useful only in rooms that need Windows software. Buy panels with an OPS slot, and fill it room by room where there is a real need.
